Yamaha Electone B-405 by hellstormde Yamaha Electone B-405 by hellstormde
This is the first render of a series of 4 images.
It's the Yamaha Electone B-405 electronic home organ.

This and the other 3 shots together will form some kind of poster.

It's completely done in Maya 2008 and rendered with mental ray.
Some post work has been done in Photoshop (sharpen, blur, color correct...)

it looks nice, but i think possibly a little too much reflection on the wood shader. but definitely really nice.

Really nice render. Looks almost real already. :D
There's just a bit too much graininess for my taste in there.

We have one similar looking thing btw. Not nearly as complicated though and I don't remember was it Yamaha. Like in a piano the keys can be covered with a wooden panel and there are only a few similar buttons and sliders.

I remember playing with it when I was a kid. It's silently humming when turned on and it couldn't really handle more than about 8 keys pressed down simultaneously (not so often you need more anyway though). If I remember correctly there's two foot pedals and you can use them to compress air manually. So you could play it without electricity too but that was a real workout each time.

It has been in storage for quite some time now but it should still work. Have to try it out some day again.

Thanks for bringing back the memories. :D

You can do so little to see that this isn't in fact a photo. Great work!

It really does look amazing. The decals (labels?) still blow my mind! Great work, very realistic and detailed...

And they blow up the memory usage :D. The labels have resolutions up to 4096 pixels wide (for closeups) :D

What can I say? Wow! It just looks fantastic... I really think you captured the 'realism' that you wanted with this one!
